Carbon fiber, contained in CFRP(carbon fiber rainforced plastic), is almost impossible to be burned out by even high temperature burnt gas because of extremely high melting or sublimation point of carbon fiber and a low oxygen concentration in burnt gases. In this study, first, oxygen nozzle of 10 mm x 30 mm exit size, which equipped fuel (propane) pipe of inner diameter of 0.8 mm for a pilot ignition flame, has been introduced to observe the in-oxygen-combustion behaiviors of test pieces of (i) CFRP slender plate (2 mm wide and 1 mm thickness), (ii)slender plate of CFRP-P (Plastic removed CFRP), "G"FCRs("Graphite" Fine Cylindrical Rod) of diameters of 0.38 mm, 0.55 mm and 0.72 mm.

Application of Thermal Haptics to Tele-Existence Haptics Robot Arm for Remote Thermal Environments

Robot systems capable of experiencing remote environments are urgently required for future lack of manpower and aging society. In this study, development of the tele-existence robot arm in which human beings can experience not only the haptic environment but also the thermal environment was targeted. In this report, first, a tele-haptics robot arm system, driven by torque control, was introduced. Silicon rubber is used for the fingers of the robot arm because its thermal conductivity is close to that of human skin. In order to investigate the temperature rise caused by contact with a heating body, thermocouples were embedded at the depths of 0.3, 0.6 and 0.9 mm of the silicone rubber finger tips. Temperature measurement was carried out when a high temperature aluminum cylinder of 60 deg.C was touched with a heavy force of 7.8 N and a light force of 0.86 N. The results was compared with numerical simulated results.

Using a delicate multi-directional quantitative schlieren optical system, the 20-directional observation of high-speed premixed turbulent flame, non-uniform density flow, by employing non-scanning 3D-CT (three-dimensional computer-tomography) technique has been conducted. The 3D density distributions data of target flame by using ML-EM (Maximum Likelihood-Expectation Maximization) an appropriate CT (computer-tomography) algorithm are successfully reconstructed. In the previous report, a novel technique "multi-path integration" is proposed for noise reduction in projections (density thickness) images of CT (computer-tomography). Multi-path integration is required schlieren brightness gradient in both horizontal (x-directional) and vertical (z-directional) directions, or in other words, in two orthogonal directions (e.g. horizontal and vertical or two perpendicular diagonal directions). The 20-directional quantitative schlieren optical system presents only images of schlieren brightness in the horizontal gradient (x-directional) and another 20-directional optical system seems necessary to obtain vertical (z-directional) schlieren brightness gradient, simultaneously. In the present investigation, the report deals with introducing a new technique for obtaining vertical schlieren brightness gradient from horizontal experimental data without the necessity of a new optical system. This new approach is a simple and inexpensive solution. First, for a deep understanding of complex schlieren brightness, a numerical simulation is performed. Next, the initial density thickness (Dt) images are obtained from images of schlieren brightness in the horizontal gradient (x-directional). Finally, using inverse process from density thickness (Dt) images, the vertical (z-directional) and diagonal schlieren brightness gradient data of target flame successfully obtained. The mentioned technique can be used for obtaining any optional directions of schlieren brightness gradient.

「当量比」は,各種燃料と酸化剤(空気)との混合割合を与える値であり,燃焼にとって,適正混合・燃料過剰・空気過剰などの状態を表現する,極めて重要なパラメーターである.
本研究では,この「当量比」に注目し,「複数種の燃料が混在する予混合気体場の当量比分布」を計測する手法を提案する.さらに,この提案を,「定量シュリーレン三次元CT計測法」[1,,2]に適用し,当該予混合気が存在する流れ場の瞬間三次元当量比分布の計測を試みる. -

炭素繊維強化プラスチック(CFRP)の今後の利用量の増大に備え,難燃性CFRPの最終焼却処分方法について検討する必要がある.前報[1]では,CFRP,とくに炭素繊維CFが,3000℃を超える高温燃焼ガスであっても全く燃焼しないこと,しかし,酸素流領域では極めて明瞭に燃焼することが確認され,温度条件よりはむしろ,高濃度酸素条件がCFRPの燃焼・焼却に有効であることを示した.本報では,はじめに前報[1]の結果(CFRP-P(後述)および"G"FCRの酸素燃焼実験)を記載する.本報ではさらに,"G"FCR周囲の燃焼ガス流動の観察,"G"FCR表面の赤熱状況撮影および赤熱画像のRGB分解を行った.

本研究では,密度変化を伴った流体現象に対して多方向からの定量シュリーレン同時撮影を実施し,得られたシュリーレン画像を用いて三次元データを得る計測法(1-2)を提案した.この計測法を「成分不明な複数種類の燃料が混在する予混合気の当量比」の計測に用いて,当該予混合気が存在する流れ場の瞬間三次元当量比分布の計測を試みた.また,CT再構成精度の向上の為,画像解析を行う前にノイズの低減(ノイズリダクション)を目的とした画像処理が必要であると考えられる.そこで,従来のシュリーレン画像を拡張した「複素シュリーレン画像」という概念を導入し,その特性を用いた新しいノイズリダクション技術を提案する.

The 3D density distributions data of target flames by using ML-EM (Maximum Likelihood-Expectation Maximization) an appropriate CT algorithm are successfully reconstructed. First, the report deals with introducing a new approach for noise reduction in projections (density thickness) images of CT called "multi-path integration" novel technique. The numerical simulation results approve that the new approach is a good technique for noise reduction in projections images of CT. Next, by using inverse process for 3D density distributions data of high speed turbulent flame the 20-directional horizontal (x-directional) and vertical (z-directional) brightness gradient of schlieren images reconstructed. Then, by employing the new technique, the new set of projections images of density thickness successfully obtained. Finally, by using the new set of density thickness images "with decreased noise" as projections for CT reconstruction, the 3D density distributions data of target flame successfully reconstructed. The results validate that the "multi-directional integration" novel technique is a good technique for noise reduction in obtaining projections (density thickness) images of CT and the 3D density distributions of CT result.
