Effects of layout of station names on subjective impressions of Japanese railway maps with a single horizontal line were investigated. Japanese station names written in a "top to bottom" or "left to right" direction were placed above or below a line on a map. The names were vertical or tilted. Participants were asked to evaluate each of the railway maps using several 7-point semantic differential scales: visibility, preference, balance, searchability, readability, and so on. Results showed that in the "top to bottom" condition all items were more positively evaluated for the vertical direction than for the tilted direction. Several scores were higher in a "below a line" position than in a "above a line" position. In the "left to right" condition, the result differed in the tilted direction type and the position against the line. These findings were inconsistent with the author's previous experimental study using a reaction time paradigm.

本研究では“逃げる”と“避難”の言葉の差異や勧告・指示・命令などの表現の差といった，災害時の避難呼びかけの表現内容や口調が聴取者に与える印象を検討した。女声および男性アナウンスによる避難呼びかけを実験参加者に評価させた結果，女声の方が避難行動をより喚起しうることが示唆された，また避難時に対する命令調呼びかけが指示調よりも避難効果に有効であるとはいえなかった。
