    SmNiO3 (SNO) 薄膜を石英ガラス基板上に成膜合成した。SNOは700°C では低い結晶性だが、 800°Cで焼成すると高い結晶性を示す。これらの膜は転移温度前後で光の透過率は変化しないが、種結晶膜上に700℃で合成したSNOは転移温度前後で透過率が変化を示した。

    電子回路上の高周波近傍漏洩電磁界の観察手段として用いられてきた金属プローブは高周波領域では、周りの電磁界分布を擾乱する問題がある。そこで、磁気光学素子をプローブとして用い、パルスレーザを用いたストロボ撮影の手段を応用した新たな測定システムを開発した。この手法は、ストロボの役割であるパルスレーザのショットタイミングを制御することにより、電磁界の任意の位相の強度を観測できる利点があることも明らかになった。
