    微生物の鉄運搬に関わるシデロフォアに類似した化合物4種類を人工的に合成し、その物性評価を行なった。プロトンの付加・解離の定量とそれに伴う構造変化について、紫外可視・赤外吸収スペクトルを用いて追求した。その結果、鉄イオンを安定に捕捉できること、また微生物活性があり、かつ微生物特異性を見出すことに成功した。

    太陽電池の色素材としてトランスSCN配位したビピリジン型ルテニウム錯体を合成した。この錯体の吸収スペクトルは近赤外領域(~900nm)付近に拡張しており、太陽光を有効に利用することが期待される。色素増感型太陽電子に組み込みその特性を検討したところ、変換効率は5.2%であった。
