H-infinity preview control is a control method to suppress the disturbance well and to achieve a good tracking
performance by utilizing disturbance information in the future in the framework of H-infinity control. But it is not easy way to
implement them. Though an easy way to implement an H-infinity preview controller with a simplified model has been
proposed, the performance of the designed control system is not enough. We propose a design technique of
high-performance H-infinity preview controller with available tools by using an approximated time-delay model. -

The preview control is a control technique to improve control performance by using information of the future desired value. The optimal preview control based on LQ control may produce wrong direction re-sponses and overshoots to step changes of the command. This study proposes an approach to prevent this problem by applying an optimal problem with constraints on the response shape to calculate the preview compensator and introducing the reference model in the design of the index performance.

A control approach to improve thermal control performance of electric furnaces with resistive heaters driven by commercial electricity and zero-cross switching scheme is proposed. Delta-sigma modulators are used to enhance the performance of zero –cross switching scheme, which produces small harmonic components of the consuming current. Fluctuations of resistance are estimated to compensate its effects on the feeding power spectra.
