    It is desirable to operate power equipment such as transformers considering improvement of utilization rate and the lifetime. It is considered that the application of dynamic rating to improve the utilization rate. However, the equipment is increasingly used with high load due to the dynamic rating, so it is necessary to understand the lifetime of the equipment and operate it. In order to implement the current capacity calculation formula and the average degree of polymerization calculation formula using for transformer lifetime estimation, it is required dedicated devices to perform complicated calculations for each formula. Therefore, this paper considers creating formulas with only four arithmetic operations for the current capacity calculation formula and the average degree of polymerization calculation formula, and implementing them in the same device. Also, it is required overload protection relay to perform dynamic rating, in order to prevent equipment failure. So, this paper shows the implementation of three functions, dynamic rating, overload protection function, and the average degree of polymerization calculation formula, for one IED that can perform simple calculations.

    The idea of dynamic rating system to maximize the use of existing facilities is effective for solving the lack of transmission line vacant capacity that prevents a large amount of dispersed generations from connecting power grids. Such system requires a new arithmetic device for implementing the complicated formula to calculate the current capacity together with the overload protection device for transmission line. This paper considers the implementation of a dynamic rating system and a transmission line overload protection using one Intelligent Electronic Device (IED) and contrives a formula for calculating the current capacity that can be implemented in IED. It also shows the result of implementation of the proposed capacity calculation formula and transmission line protection.

    Many of the high-voltage consumers have installed the static capacitors (SC) for power factor improvement. However, in many cases SC is always input to distribution systems for cost reduction. As a result, a power factor of distribution line becomes leads. It has led to the voltage rise at distribution line by Ferranti phenomenon. As a countermeasure, the installation of automatic power factor controller (APFC) that controls SC automatically is highly effective. In order to introduce of APFC to the high voltage customers,the authors have developed the APFC controlled by current for cost reduction. However, since the proposed control logic for controlling the SC using current is complicated, we improved control logic of APFC controlled by current. In this paper, we propose a new control logic of APFC controlled by current . And, we evaluate controlling of SC by the new APFC installed by a consumer.
