    An automobile has required the reliable parts with high strength, high precision, and low cost. Precision forging is suitable for the needs to manufacture the precise parts. Key technologies to develop the forging are related to the die design, process design, CAE, press-machine, material, tool, and lubrication. This report illustrates the development of lubrication for the past 30 years in Japan. It has improved the quality and quantity of the parts, the die life, and the environment in manufacturing. We have the development of high-performance oil, an innovative non-phosphate lubricant coating for cold forging, and glass lubricant for warm forging.

    Micro/Nano forming technology is desired for development of an electronic device and an electric vehicle with related key parts. Innovation of micro/nano forming technology can blow a fresh life force into forming technology for manufacturing of the key parts.
